Elefunt

This happened a while ago, while still in Varanasi.  Ben had been asleep for about 5 minutes, but I woke him up when I saw this:

which was an elephant in traffic.

This is a working elephant, not a showpiece, though [s]he may be carrying his/her own food and on the way to do a wedding or something.  This was about 1 minute from our house.

Last week we were eating at Cafe Lolo [slogan: you can eat a lot here! hasketts review: as long as you limit yourself to the stuff on the menu that you don't want, because everything else is unavailable.  ! ] when we saw a man ride by on a camel.   I love my India.
